Subject: Reliable Cone 8 white opaque glossy glaze?
Hi,

I'm searching for a reliable white glossy glaze at Cone 8 (cone 9 would be OK too). The look I'm after is a glossy pure white that covers well and doesn't break around the edges. So far all the stoneware glazes I've tried have not quite given me this look - they are either semi-transparent, or matt, or come out a milky white / cream, or they break around the edges. The closest I've come is a tin white, which comes out a lovely colour but breaks very strongly around edges.

I used to have a Cone 6 white Zircon glaze that achieved exactly that look, but I'd like to fire at Cone 8 / 9 and haven't found anything to replace it.

If anyone could point me in the direction of a glaze to try I'd be thrilled. I don't mind if it's a recipe that can be shared, or something in a book that doesn't cost a fortune, or even a commercial glaze that I can order! Any suggestions welcome!!
